“Students were asked to choose a twentieth-century photographer.

Each student researched their photographer’s ideas, technical approach and style, while learning about image construction techniques. Then the students created a series of their own photographs in the style of their chosen photographer. These weren’t recreations of existing images. Instead, the students had to create new concepts appropriate to their photographer and shoot them as authentically as possible.”
