As the temperature rises, this week’s focus is on SPF. We all know protecting your skin is important however finding the right SPF that won't interfere with your makeup is a must have for your kits. Firstly, when looking for face and body SPF look for ones that don't contain a lot of oils and that don't leave a white cast on the face when exposed to flash photography. The UltraSun SPF applies like a setting mist and can be used before and after makeup. This sunscreen has high protection and goes on clear, perfect for shooting outdoors. Another great skin SPF is the UnseenSunscreen which again goes on clear but you apply it like moisturiser. Tinted Lanolin Lip Balm is the perfect lip topper that will protect your lips from the sun. Either apply straight on the lips or add some lipstick then apply over top. Finally, my favourite product to apply to clients is the Ben Nye Matt Final Seal. Although This product does not contain SFP I thought it was worth a mention as it is perfect to apply to clients who are going to be out at an event all day and want there makeup to last through sweat. I find this product works best when you apply before makeup application and after to lock in everything. If you tend to go for a dewy base this product won't compromise the look instead it holds everything together creating the longest lasting finish.
